Sea Cadets that participate in culinary trainings gain the experience of menu planning and food preparation for large groups often planning and prepping for their shipmates at the same training contingent. The cadets learn proper safety galley procedures in regards to fire, hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and safe food handling procedures. Some culinary trainings may teach proper table setting, and food preparation fit for the officer’s wardroom or official events/and banquets.
